My overall experience with Steel City has been horrible to put it mildly. I used the company on a recommendation from a friend and assurance from the representative I dealt with of their quality and value. I will say this, the three movers that performed the move were good guys. They worked very hard, didn't stop all day, and were professional and courteous. However, they badly damaged two pieces of our furniture. I will focus on those rather than mentioning the other pieces that had small dings or scratches from the move. These two damaged pieces began a long process of dealing with Steel City to resolve the issue to our satisfaction. The two pieces were damaged because Steel City underestimated the move. The truck that they brought was not big enough, causing them to make poor decisions on how the furniture should be arranged. The girl on the phone was great and explained everything in detail to me and repeated it to make sure I understood my pricing. The guys who came were very nice and a couple helped me to load my china in my car. I could not be any happier with my moving company and will give their name out.

I was waiting to see if I received a tool box that was lost in my move (they told me they found it) before writing my final review. It never arrived. My last minute move began with a quote from Budget. This is the first problem. They are middle men who quote low to get the sale, then the bad news when NW Relocation shows up and it's TRIPLE the price. He spent too much time bashing Budget and not working with his men this I felt put them behind schedule. One of the workers didn't speak or understand English very well, he needed to be supervised but he wasn't and this caused most of my troubles with them. He packed my moving folder with all my necessary papers, passport and money that was near my computer on the counter. Mind you his job was to pack the kitchen items, pots, pans, etc. When it was discovered that the folder was missing, Dan (the foreman) immediately blamed me. Arleen from United National Moving & Storage was very pleasant, she was punctual, and extremely informative. She gave me a checklist of things that I needed to do prior to moving. She gave me an estimate for transporting my goods and another estimate for packing all of my stuff as well. My estimate was to take 850 cu ft . She explained that the packing was at extra cost and gave me some tips on packing myself. There were some items that I did not want to pack like my good china, and pictures. She told me that if I was to pack them, their liability is very limited to any damage. I decided that they could pack the things that I was most concerned with. I was moving from Denver to South Florida so driving a ruck with the dogs and family that far was out the question. But they just made me say, "Wow!" Sometime, I don’t understand why anyone hires a mover with low cost. I am not against lower rate but maximum time it doesn't work for the best.
